How did your boss tell employees?
Just curious how your bosses let the news out about your pregnancies. I'm the first preggo employee at my job and I've been here a month. He's leaving it up to me and I'm not sure whats the norm.

In my office an e-mail gets sent around when the baby arrives. No announcement is made at the beginning of the pregnancy.

My boss never said anything.
I told people that I felt like telling, otherwise they just figured it out by themselves when I started to show.

It is up to YOU to announce it, not your boss. They actually shouldn't say anything on your behalf.

This is why I'm asking. He is the one who asked me how I'd like him to announce it. I didn't think it needed to be officially "announced" at all.
I guess I'll just tell him that I'll tell people myself when I'm ready to.

The day I told my boss happened to be the day our dept (8 ppl) was going out for a lunch together. I told that group at lunch and then just kinda let the word spread from there. It's a small office (less than 40 ppl) so the news traveled pretty fast!

I told people myself. They are all my friends (I work in a very small office). I told my boss/director after the first trimester. My direct supervisor was the LAST person I told.

Ditto... but a lot later than 3 months. I did tell my chairman first (people of power should not be the last to know).
