How do you choose your big ticket items
Crib Bassinet Stroller Car seat Pack n Play etc, etc
What sites do you use for safety, reliability, etc. The research feels overwhelming - no idea where to begin!

Re: How do you choose your big ticket items
I got recommendations from friends who have recently had babies and then did tons of research on those items.

I used the baby bargains book, and then I also used Amazon and read reviews which was also super helpful!

The baby bargains book was so helpful! I also asked people who recently had babies for suggestions.

Re: How do you choose your big ticket items
Crib - found the one we liked and then did some research on the brand. Both of my DD's furniture is Natart - a very well made, reputable brand.
Bassinet - we have the Rock n Play. Everyone I know swears by it. DD1 loved it, DD2 won't lay in it - she has tried to sit up in it from very early on.
Stroller - looked at a bunch of different models, pushed them around the store, read reviews, and went with the Uppababy.
Car seat - same as stroller, without the pushing around. We first decided on the stroller and then chose a car seat that would snap in. We chose the Peg Perego - seemed sturdy and had good reviews. Also looked comfortable.
Pack n Play - did no research. Picked one out and have literally never used it. Wish I had returned it (not because I chose a bad one, but because I had no use for one).

Re: How do you choose your big ticket items
Baby Bargains was where I first looked, especially for the big ticket items. It helped me soooo much. Then based on friends recommendations, people on here, looking at the store, but Baby Bargains really helped me decide with my 1st. I know it's overwhelming!!!!
