DH shovels. Thinking of getting a snowblower for next year, it's just not worth it...

this. except if he's not home I shovel my ridiculous hill of a driveway. It doesn't bother me much. I don't mind the shoveling adn the kids play outside but I LOVE when dh snow blows it so I don't have to lol. I really need to learn the snowblower

DH usually shovels. This storm though he was away on business so I shoveled the driveway and walkway myself.

Growing up we had a VERY long driveway and no snowblower. It was always mine and my brothers jobs to help dad shovel. I absolutely hated it, but its much faster when there's more than one person helping.

I have always shoveled myself out (when it was me and my mom at home, i'd help her, then when i lived on my own i needed to shovel out).

DH and i usually split the work up and tackle it together. There have been times when it snowed during the day while we were at work and i've gotten home first and shoveled the walk/sidewalk and driveway myself.
Yesterday DS was sick, so i stayed inside with him while DH shoveled.
Other than when i was pregnant, i'm pretty sure its the only time i haven't shoveled after a storm!

DH shoveled it (I used to help him before I was pregnant, but not this year), our driveway isn't too long (it's enough to be a PITA though).

I stay warm inside lol.

DH does a combo of shoveling and using the snowblower.

Re: How do you clear snow from your driveway?

We are staying with family so we have not bought a snow blower. This year some of the family is on vacation. Dh cleared our 4 car drive. I helped with a bit of the sidewalk.

We hire a company. Our driveway is really, really long. They plow the paved part and hand shovel & snowblow the circular brick paver part because it can't be plowed.

We have to have a payloader do our driveway as it is so long and usually has high drifts. Regular plows can't do it and a tractor with a front end loader that clears farms fled when the driver saw our place years ago, so a payloader it is. We shovel the walls ourselves and also dig out our cars.

We use a snowblower for as much as we can and shovel the rest of the areas that are hard to get to. I've always shoveled with Dh, except for when I was pregnant or inside with a newborn. This snowfall dh and I were both shoveling while 2 year old dd "shoveled" with her little shovel Chat Icon

Re: How do you clear snow from your driveway?

We don't use our garage for the cars, so both go on the driveway - a LOT less shoveling.
We also don't have a sidewalk, and our house is South facing

So, I see no point in spending the $$$ on a snow blower we'll use 3 or 4x a year and pray every time that the stupid thing starts. Just another thing to store in my garage. -

We just shovel it. and being South facing, the sun melts A LOT !!

Snow Blower, Shovels and Electric Shovel. We will be getting the plow attachment for our ride on mower next winter.

Our driveway is pretty big and we have a long walk way and steps, not that they require all these things but he likes his outside toys.

Last year when he was really sick and snowed I just used the shovel!
