I agree with an above poster, The more I look at it the more I think I didn't get a good cut at all.

I bought some spary wax at the salon that day, but it just seems to make my hair feel dirty. Which really pi$$es me off b/c I paid top dollar for it.

I have some gooey pomade that I used to use when I had short hair a few years ago, but it doesn't work well with this cut b/c the bangs weren't really textured when she cut it. I think I need to "cut into" my bangs alittle.

What do you guys think?

Also, can anyone recommend a stylist who could possibly fix this in some way?

Dont cut into your bangs until they start to grow out!!! Its going to end up looking choppy if you do so.

I actually like the haircut. I've had similar cuts. And I don't think it's that far off from the picture. I think it's the color and highlights in the picture that make a huge difference. I would definitely ad some to your cut.

Thanks! But honestly, my picture might not be "telling the whole story"... To me the girl in the picture has longer hair on the top and back of her head. See the blonde parts? They go from one side of her head to the other side almost down to her ear.

Mine is about an inch long.

Awe I'm sorry you don't like your cut!
I think getting a few highlights could do wonders for the depth and it will be longer in no time!
I think headbands/scarfs and earrings could really perk up the look a lot! Chat Icon

Yeah...I know what you mean. Yours is shorter. But I still think it's nice and looks nice on you. But than again, I love shorter haircuts.
I just know when I've had cuts like this highlights make a huge difference. It ads some definition and brightens up the face. That's been "my" experience anyway.

Thanks Sissy...I think I may go for the highlights in a couple of weeks, maybe by that point I'll have a better grip on it and won't dislike it as much.

I think the cut looks good!

Maybe add some highlights, that's what seems to really make your model picture pop. I'd also try giving it some oomph with spray wax. You can do a lot of fun things with your new 'do. Maybe after a week or so the shock will wear off and you'll really love it; it is very cute!

Can I just tell you, that Sienna Miller picture was one of my inspiration pictures too???

Maybe I will go for the highlights... I'm just so unsure about my stylist. She's only colored my hair once.

Re: How do you deal with a new haircut you HATE?

I've cried over a haircut before, just keep reminding yourself that it's only hair and it grows back! I would definitely get some drastic highlights put in though, just to break it up and make it look more youthful.

Whatever you do, don't cut your hair more...you'll regret it even more. I think the stylist went a little scissor happy but I think she gave you the cut that you asked for. IMO, that style just doesn't suit you. You have an adorable face, and I think this cut doesn't bring it out for some reason...maybe its the shape of your face. Your previous hairstyle was perfect I think. But we all like to change things around once in a while. Let it grow out a little bit and I promise you that in a couple of weeks you'll be much happier! I would just suggest growing out the top and keep on trimming the bottom...

I know you're upset but just leave it alone, let it grow out and it'll look perfect, you'll seeChat Icon Chat Icon

I think it looks very close to the picture.

It looks good. I like how it looks, but I like short hair. I really think it's that those styles are tricky. If you hair moves or is parted just a little differently, the style is ruined. maybe let the fronts grow a little and angle them. It might just be that you have to get used to it.

I don't know...it looks like she came pretty close to the picture.
I did the same thing in the winter...and my hairdresser did NOT want to do it, but I insissted. Then I hated it....it's grown out now and I love my hair again.

It will grow back and I think it will look cute (I think it looks fine now but you know what I mean). For my bangs etc I use Garnier Fructis styling wax...just a tiny bit, it really holds well, doesnt feel dirty.

Re: How do you deal with a new haircut you HATE?

I think in 2 weeks it's going to look great

right now it's just alittle short

I know the feeling all to well- I once went from blonde back to my natural dark brown

for 2 weeks I would cry when I looked in the mirror

now- I wont even let anyone put 1 highlight in my hair- I love it dark- and can't imagine it ever being light again

Re: How do you deal with a new haircut you HATE?

OK, so first of all...I am a huge fan of short hair and I really like the cut.

If you need some time, I would try headbands and/or hair accessories (clips, bobby pins, etc).

Also..you can try flipping the front ends or sleeking it down with gel for a different look.

Re: How do you deal with a new haircut you HATE?

As someone with short hair, I really like the new style. Mine is almost the same style. I'm sorry you don't like it.

give it a few weeks to grow in and it'll look great. I think highlights would look great on you.

In 2-3 weeks you'll be so happy. I have had short short hair a few times and know where you're coming from.

If you plan on going back to her/ him I would let them know that you were unhappy. I always let me stylist know - last time he cut my hair a little shorter on top. I let him know and he has been paying more attention to what I say when I come in.

Re: How do you deal with a new haircut you HATE?

it doesn't look like a bad haircut, just not the one you requested. It seems like the proportions are off, like the hair on top should be considerably longer and I'd bet that the hair in the inspiration picture is suppppper short in the back. Grow it out for a few weeks and then check it out, it might just be a matter of going to some other place and showing them the picture so they can cut the back shorter so when it grows in a bit more it'll be exactly like the picture.
