I think it is dowright despicable.
I know not everyone loved him and had their own opinions about his character, but please show some class and respect for someone who has just passed.
I agree- if not for him, for his family. Even if he was guilty (and I am 100 %not sure he was) there are people who loved him and they are hurting.

He was accused of child molestation and then cleared of all charges. Was he strange? Yes? Misunderstood? Yes. Mentally ill? Possibly, but never was there any evidence that he was a child molester.
They didn't have enough evidence for a conviction, but they certainly had enough evidence that he was inappropriate with children....having sleepover's in his bed , that freaky room they found in his house..... I say, if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck , it must be a duck. I don't need a conviction to know I would *never* leave my child alone in a room with him and I also believe that even if he didn't molest children, his interaction with them was inappropriate.

I have heard some and I don't really find them funny or appropriate now. I think the man should be remembered for his huge contribution to music and pop culture. Love him or hate him, no one can deny his contribution. He was troubled and had some personal issues, but I don't think anyone should make jokes, particularly about someone's death...and all of the "jokes" I've heard have been regarding his death. It's disrespectful.

They make me really sad. I think he was a terribly sick individual who was never given help, and pushed into the spotlight for other people's selfishness.
I have no idea if he ever molested children. I do believe he had non-traditional relationships with them becuase he, himself, was never allowed to be a child, so he reverted back into a childlike state.
He was clearly mentally ill, and died a young man, leaving behind 3 children.
I don't see how you can make a joke about that....or see a joke about that is funny.

joking is in poor taste. a man died, for pete's sake. it's a sad story and a sad ending for an enigmatic genius. regardless of what he did or did not to, i respect the man for his talent and everything he gave to my generation and other generations. it's just sad. and no one should be laughing.

I haven't heard any and wouldn't listen even if I did, WHETHER OR NOT I believe he was a child molester.
Out of respect for a family that grieves, especially his 3 INNOCENT CHILDREN, I would shut my ears and shut my mouth.

IMO, the 1st family to accuse him got millions from MJ, so the 2nd family tried to do the same and get thir huge payday. but MJ went to court and proved his innocence. they got ZILCH! and no one else accused him after that.

I’m not saying MJ was normal, he had a very difficult childhood and couldn’t handle the fame. No one except for maybe Elvis was as famous as he was. People around him clearly didn’t have his best interest at heart. So many around him robbed him blind and took advantage of his kindness.
His life was very sad.

I remember hearing gross jokes about princess Diana after she passed and thinking that was just in such bad taste an was sickened. I think people try to make light of bad situations, one of those things that if you don't laugh you will cry. Not saying it's right or wrong but I think that is why people do that.

EXACTLY...huge difference, IMHO
I was no fan of MJ but I will not speak ill of him....his body is not even cold yet....people need to give it a rest and have some common decency

I think that with money you can be cleared of any charges - I believe that he was a child molester.
I don't get the logic that the jokes are okay because you think he was a child molester. The jokes aren't hurting him - he's dead. The jokes could potentially hurt his loved ones. Whether or not he was a child molester (I honestly have NO opinion about that), his family and his friends are mourning his loss. He had people who loved him and they are hurting right now. The man has 3 children who are missing their father right now. You aren't disrespecting MJ with these jokes - you are disrespecting his family and innocent children.

Some are pretty funny but some are tasteless.
I didn't respect him when he was alive.. so I should respect now that he's dead  Ummmm NO.
I don't really get where his family members come into this.. not a single person who I have heard or read a joke from has actually told MJ's family the joke or even posted it in a place where the family can read it. Then again, it seems like his family didn't exactly disown him or try to get him the help he desperately needed, so I have a tolerable respect for them too. (Which, i assume is allowed because they're still alive?)
Really it's his kids I worry about the most I hope they can get through this OK and learn about the world beyond the messed up upbringing they have had.

EXACTLY...I think its utterly disguting that people find someone's death humorous enough to make jokes about it.

I agree. We will never know if he was actually guilty and I don't know if I believe he was. I do think that he was a very troubled man who didn't seem to have any support. Whatever your feelings, his contributions to the music industry are undeniable. He was a music legend and I wish people could just remember him for that.

I am obnoxious when it comes to stuff like this - i think it is absolutely disgusting how people put celebrities up on a pedestal. Yes he made great music but he was not IMO a good human being. I would rather respect a good human being.
And I actually doubt that his family heard any of this stuff since everyone in the public eye is going out of their way to sanctify him.
