How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
We're trying to do a gender neutral nursery for #2 and I know the more typical pick is yellow or green but I did yellow and green for baby #1 so I feel like I want something different this time. Has anyone done it? Does anyone have pics to share? Thanks

sorry to invade the pregnancy board...
Judging by your decorating posts, I think you and I have a VERY similar style
I would do chocolate, as long as the curtains and furniture were modern and white. And the flooring was a light wood....
do you ever go on the website ohdeedoh.com?
lots of nice ideas there

Re: How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
when i was a kid i had chocolate brown walls and i had nightmares all the time. finally my parents painted my room pink and they went away. not saying that will happen, but i think a kids room should be bright.

oh no seriously? How old were you? Great, now I'll have a complex about brown. Boy there really arent' many options for those of us not finding out the sex of the baby.

Re: How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
What about tan walls with chocolate brown trim? Then you can add blue or pink accents once the baby comes? I love a lighter color wall with a dark trim. My DD has this in her room...bright pink walls and chocolate trim. I just think it's too dark for the entire wall. Also, a nice shade of light blue could work for a boy or a girl imo.

id worry about it being a bit dark...
would probably go for more of a lighter Khaki color, then maybe chocolate molding/carpet

i was a little older when I moved into that room...about 3 or 4 I think. not only were the walls brown, but so was the carpet!! my parents moved me into an old play room which was the size of a closet. sounds like child abuse, doesnt it? lol we lived in brooklyn...the rooms were small.
what about tan, yellow, green? I painted my room a warm green so it goes with boy or girl.

I think chocolate walls would be way too dark. How about a nice latte, coffee color and trim it in chocolate?

Re: How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
I just painted my nursery walls BM sepia tan and one wall caramel- with white trim. I love it!! I think it is beautiful and matches well with my bedding that has green and tans and browns.

I would do Chocolate brown as an accent wall but not for every wall.

Re: How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
Joe and I were thinking about chocolate brown when we were pg. I think it lends itself nicely to either pink or blue accents andfits with any color. I would just use light carpet or light throw rugs and light furniture and paint the trim white. I LOVE dark brown rooms. Plus IMHO it lends itself to a more "grown-up" nursery if that's what you're looking for. HTH!

I'd do tan with brown accents, but not entirely brown. Just seems too dark to me.

ITA, I was just going to suggest an accent wall, and maybe the other walls in a warm taupe or tan/beige...or even sage if you want to go the green route again.

Re: How do you feel about chocolate brown walls in nursery
We just did the baby's room in cream and chocolate. We are really happy with the way it came out and now it will match the bedding - girl or boy!

Same here...we have 1 chocolate brown wall as an accent in our living room....I couldn't see doing the whole room that color. And I agree, kids rooms should be bright & cheerful!
