I absolutely agree with all the above posters! As much as I love DS and love being with him, I need a night out to recharge and be a better mommy (even a night away from DH makes me a better wife Chat Icon )

It's necessary for your sanity and honestly good for your children too!

I go out with DH once a week or so. Just last night he stayed with the baby so SIL and I could go out. It was good for them to have that time.

I make an effort to see my friends w/o DS around to have some time for those friendships.

I make it a point to go out every so often, both with DH and nights out with the girls only! We were a couple first and I always like to remember that - and well, my ladies (they know who they are!), love them and need my time with them!

I think so, not like 5 times a month but maybe 1 or 2 nights a month if that much, you need to re-group and focus on yourself as well. The only nights I get out alone is for classChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon but i guess that counts!

why not 5 times a month?

Thats a litle bit of time IMO out of a WHOLE month.

It is like others said neccesary IMO if you can do it...GO!

Re: How do you feel about Mommies going out for the night?

It's a wonderful thing. I am always going some where. It's very important for mommies to have time for themselves. I find that because I do have time for myself I am not stressed and miserable and I am able to be a VERY HAPPY mother and wife.

Re: How do you feel about Mommies going out for the night?

I rarely do because my good friends don't live nearby, but I wish I could more often. I'm also exhausted after working all day and don't have much energy to go out. Plus, DH works nights a lot.

But we have date night about once a month.

Re: How do you feel about Mommies going out for the night?

My Mom had bowling night and Mah Jhong night. Dad also had bowling night, poker night and once a month met with the stock club. This went on for years. Im convinced their time apart kept them as sane as possible and married as along as they were. When one was out, the other took care of the kids. Parents need to have lives. I don't bowl, play Mah Jhong or poker nor do I invest in the stock market. Maybe I better get a move on soon!!!

I love to go out without DS and sometimes without DH! A few weeks ago, I had a girls now out to see Sex in the City, have dinner and drinks. It was wonderful!
