how do you keep your infant really warm at night?
i have DS in a long sleeve onesie and then his pjs (flannel like and very warm) over it.
he wakes up with his hands and face freezing! and he hasn't been sleeping well these last few nights--i think it's temperature related.
there are no drafts in his room. the windows are brand new. i put the heat on tonight to see if that would help.
how do you keep them really warm at night? even if i bought some type of gloves, he would never keep them on because he sucks on his fists.
any suggestions??

DS is 2 1/2 months and I keep him in a light long sleeve feety pjs and the miracle blanket. I keep his pjs light cause i think the swaddle keeps him warm.

Newborns have poor circulation. DS's hands and feet were always cold, even in the summer. How do his legs/arms feel? We just bought one of those sleeping sacks/bags and it seems to be working well.

if its his face and hands are freezing, his room is getting too cold at night. You have to keep the heat up a bit.

I agree with this. As long as DC's body is warm they are ok.

DS's hands are always freezing!
He sleeps in long sleeve/long pant pj with the sleepsack.
I posted about this a few weeks ago and was told as long as the back of their neck is warm, they are warm. But their circulatory system doesn't quite work well so their hands get cold even if they aren't.

Re: how do you keep your infant really warm at night?
I've been wondering what to do at night as well.
We usually have ds in long sleeve feet pajamas. Then he's wrapped in the miracle blanket. Since we have been keeping the windows closed at night now, he tends to sweat a lot.
But then last night i noticed his face was cold. So now i have no idea what to do! Is sweating a lot better then being a little cold?

Re: how do you keep your infant really warm at night?
I put DD in pjs and then in a fleece sleep sack. The house has been cold lately and we haven't turned the heat on yet so I put a space heater in her room and set the thermostat on it to 70 degrees. Without it the room was getting down to 62! Too chilly!

Re: how do you keep your infant really warm at night?
We used the sleep sack along with the layers of clothing you listed.
My doctor told me that so long as their necks are warm they are fine. Like someone said above, infants have immature circulatory systems so their extremities (hands and feet) don't warm up as fast. Nothing to be alarmed over...actually it's better to have a cool room vs a hot room in most professional opinions.

Re: how do you keep your infant really warm at night?
We had a separate electrical heater hard-wired and installed in DD's room. Her room tends to be cooler so it solved the problem without heating the whole house unnecessarily.
