how do you store the clothes your DC has grown out of?

i was thinking either clear plastic garbage bags or a big rubbermaid container, since i am keeping them all for future kids - but i don't know which would be best. they will be stored in the garage.

what do you do?

I have used the rubbermaid containers but someone mentioned space saver bags and that sounds like a good idea too!

I have 3 filled clear rubbermaid containers in his closet. They are more or less by size 0-3, 3-6, 6-12.

I have the big bins and only save things new with tags or in really really good condition that I like.

Things that are damaged go right in the garbage.

Things that he wore - but not really - and not really my style but cute I give to family members with kids.

I have big plastic bins. He's not even 9 months old yet and the bins are taking up too much space! The space saver bags are sounding more appealing.

Re: how do you store the clothes your DC has grown out of?

So far I have just been using the Pamper Cruiser Diaper boxes for his 0-3 month clothes. Will probably do the same for 3-6 and 6-9. Once we hit 12 months I'll start using the larger storage containers.

Space save bags and than put the bags into the Rubbermaid Containers. Doing this it went from 5 containers to 2 and I kept basically everything.

Re: how do you store the clothes your DC has grown out of?

After I launder Robbie's clothes, I put them in giant Rubbermaid containers under the stairs. I make sure they are super dry first - because I destroyed an entire bucket of tee shirts by putting one damp on in. It made the whole mess moldy and musty. Noah's stuff gets given away before I ever get a chance to put it away.

I have a million boxes of clothes in the garage. I should probably keep them in Rubbermaid totes but I just never did that.
