how do you wash DCs hair if they dont want to lean back?
this may be a dumb question but DD is currently still in her FP whale tub. She only wants to sit up in it. When I need to wash her hair, I make her lie back on the incline but she still tries to do a sit up and her head is raised and moving the entire time I'm rinsing her hair. Messy.
Shes really getting too big for the whale tub now and im thinking about how im going to wash her hair in the regular tub. Lie her back, hold her head with one hand, rinse, shampoo, wash with the other? I feel like shes going to be screaming the whole time and I'd only have one hand available. Do you guys shampoo and wash while they sit up (how?), or make them lie back?

Re: how do you wash DCs hair if they dont want to lean back?
Sophia sits up the whole time. She has gotten use to me washing her hair that way. I try to get the the majority of the shampoo out from the back before rinsing out the rest. I use her wash cloth to wipe her eyes when I'm done. I also use a flexible cup I bought at BRU for that purpose.

Re: how do you wash DCs hair if they dont want to lean back?
Im mean and just pour it over his head. I figure its better if he learns to close his eyes and mouth so as he gets older he can do that and eventually take a shower with no problems. DS LOVES the bath so he deals with this part pretty good even though he hates it and I do it as quick as possible

Re: how do you wash DCs hair if they dont want to lean back?
Sofia prefers to sit up when I wash her hair. After I lather, I rinse the back using a cup. I then get her attention with the cup (I use a bright red plastic cup because she always wants to look at it and hold it) she looks up at it and, while she is looking up, I rinse the front. The water runs back and never gets in her eyes.

Now that you mention it, someone once mentioned that to me as well - that they should get used to water in their face.

Re: how do you wash DCs hair if they dont want to lean back?
I just kind of cup my hand over DS forehead.. it shields most of the water from his face.
Although I saw the coolest thing in Buy Buy Baby.. I'll post the link.. I wonder if that works.

Same here! I usually keep a washcloth handy to wipe his face after pouring the bucket over it.

Same. I dump water right over his head about 4-5 times in a row and he's very good about covering his own eyes and mouth. I always did it this way since he's about 6 months old.

I bought this at BRU - it's a shampoo rinse cup, the front of it is made of rubber so you can push it against their head and the water doesn't go into their eyes.Shampoo Rinse Cup

I dump it right on his head. He LOVES it and says "more. . more.. . more" we literally have to do like 20x in the bath.
