I do not like pop-ins! Luckily it has never happened, everyone (friends and family) always call first and we make a plan. I would never pop-in someone else's house either. It's just not the way I grew up. My DH on the other hand, always had friends popping-in his house his whole life, so I am glad it was never an issue once we lived together. He was sick of it happening and now everyone calls beforehand.

No issue with it at all. I grew up in a very tight family where aunts, uncles, cousins and friends were always in and out. If we were eating, my mother would just put another setting on the table. With a family as big as mine, you learn to not mind company. I will say that for the most part, my parents/inlaws do call before they stop over.
I'm kind of the same way-I like people just popping over for a cup of coffee or what have you.
A call first would be nice-I try to keep my house neat and tidy but it's not always perfect. We are usually up and dressed by 9 AM. If you show up unannounced, I'll give you the kids while I tidy up real quick or get dressed if you came early-this does have a tendency to deter pop ins In my eyes, if I know you well enough for a pop in, I know you well enough to give you my kids.
I would like to get in the habit of keeping a coffee cake or a coffee cake mix on hand to whip up if someone shows up unexpectedly.

Same, growing up my parents barely even locked the door, everyone was always welcome from relatives to friends it was always the more the merrier.
So it doesnt bother me at all. I will say my ILS almost never stop by unannounced unless its just to quickly grab a tool or something.
We live about 5 minutes from each other and I drop by there unannounced if DS wants to see them so I dont think much of it. But as I said its how I grew up!

at my parents house, people came over all the time anytime-we never thought much of it at all. come to think of it, I always would walk into my uncles' homes as well when getting off work to see their kids. I never called...they were just happy that I came by to see the kids.
I would love a pop in guest now! I get lonely at night!

I don't mind the pop-in, but DH hates it. My mom loved visitors, so I grew up used to people in and out a lot. I have pretty considerate family members, though, and they wouldn't do it very early or very late in the day.
I also don't have ILs, other than a SIL who lives too far away for a pop in.
