How does your dr know that you have poor egg quality?
Do they do some special test for that? Is there anyway that a sonogram can show any problems?

Re: How does your dr know that you have poor egg quality?
My RE did a panel of blood test on me and found out that i have elevated FSH. That was a key indicator that I have poor egg quality.

Re: How does your dr know that you have poor egg quality?
I am so confused by this still. When Dr.B did the OAR test he said that my fsh was elevated at 10 but my other levels were all great so I had a "good" rating...but if FSH is the reason for poor eggs then wouldn't I have borderline poor egg quality? He says its just going to take me longer as if 16 months isn't long enough!

Re: How does your dr know that you have poor egg quality?
I actually believe FSH speaks to the amount of eggs you have, no necessarily their quality. For RE's it is more an indicator of how you will respond to meds.
My fsh was 14.9 on the first day of my 1st IVF cycle. They removed 8 eggs, fertilized 5, implanted 2 on day 3 and I have healthy 2.5 year old twins, The other 3 arrested before day 5 so my results as far as the cycle were concerned were not great, but got the outcome we were looking for

This. I believe they can't really tell if you have poor egg quality until you do IVF and they actually see your eggs under a microscope. Of course, they speculate.
I am unexplained IF and I was convinced I had poor egg quality because I couldn't see any other reason why I wasn't getting pregnant. All our tests came back great. My RE did not think it was my egg quality. I am 31 and he said based on my age and the tests, there was less than 1% chance it was an egg quality issue.
I did IVF and he was right. My eggs are fine. Sometimes he told me there is just no reason. He said doctor's don't know everything-lol.
I am pregnant with from that IVF. Just hoping and praying all goes ok.
