how early before a flight should you get to the airport????

internal is 3 hours ahead of time. went to aruba a few weeks ago. flight was at 6.. int'l flight. airport was not open at 3 when we got there.

I would suggest 2 - 2.5 prior to departure. You could be lucky and get right through and have to wait by the gate, but you could also have 100 people ahead of you and someone is bound to have a problem which will hold everyone else up.
Better safe in getting their and having plenty of time then sorry and possibly missing your flight.

it stinks cuz i dont get off work at the bar fri night til 6am and then i have to leave at like 7:30am i guess! lol
maybe i shouldnt bother sleeping or anything.

I hate to say it- but you should probably plan on being there 2 hours early. With the "liquid restrictions," most likely you will be checking your bags (along with everyone else). The lines have been CRAZY due to all the extra bag-checking. Also, without fail, you'll have the people going through security who "forgot" about the restrictions, therefore holding the lines up. Couple that with the TSA who never seem to know what is and isn't allowed, and you'll have a happy mess.
 Flying is no fun anymore....

i think ill end up just bringing my phone, my ipod, my wallet and a book.
i am hoping to birng my laptop so i can watch DVDs, but dh will prob want the computer.

Its better to be early and be on time rather then go through some unforseen stress with a long line or something and being pressed for time.

I think pre- 9/11 you could be there 1 hour before. With all the added security now, you should shoot for 2 hours.

actually, they allow lipstick now. I had a Blistex and lipgloss in my purse and had no problems at 2 different airports.
I think mascara would also be ok. but if you don't need it on the flight, check it.

I would go 2 hours before I can't tell you how many people I have seen arguing b/c they showed up 1 hour before flight time. With security today it takes much longer than it did pre 9/11.

for domestic I would say at least 2 hours before because of all the new restrictions it may take longer to clear security...Have a safe flight and a fun trip!!!!

yes! a friend of mine just flew and it took 1.5 hours to get through security HERE for a domestic flight.
