How far along were you when you told people?
Between my religious superstisions and after having a m/c last time i didnt want anyone to know at all this time until after 13 weeks but my husband seems so calm and tells me he knows this time everything is going to be ok.. He says he isnt running out telling people but if people we are close with us that we told we were TTC ask he is sort of just hinting that we are.. I just feel like too many people know: My 2 friends who are also PG, my immediate family, his immediate family, my 2 other best friends and my asst. at work (she found out by accident) Should I feel bad for people knowing? Should I tell a close freind who lives really far away?

We couldn't wait. We told our family and friends at 6 weeks even though we weren't out of the woods yet. We were too excited!

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
Our immediate family found out at about 8 weeks(only b'c i was in the E/R with bleeding and we needed someone to take care of our DD) Other than that we waited until after the level 2 sono at 18 weeks to let the cat out of the bag.

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
I told my family when i was like 4 weeks, his family when we were about 6 weeks (after 1st sono). I told my boss around 6 weeks too when i started getting sick and coming in late alot. A few work friends that im close with figured it out by how sick I was and then the rest of the family/friends we told when i was about 9 weeks (on Christmas). The rest of work i told when I was 12 weeks.

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
We told our parents and my sister 5 minutes after BFP. They were awaiting the answer though, because we did IVF. My mom's side of the family pretty much found out right away, and my dad's side we told at almost 10 weeks. DH's extended family- I have no idea. They just found out by word of mouth because we aren't close with them at all.

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
we told our parents and siblings soon after i tested positive and confirmed with bloodwork. Im 7 weeks now and told my boss maybe 2 weeks ago. only b/c i'll need days off here and there for appt's. i asked him not to say anything.
3 girlfriends at work b/c they knew of the testing/procedures i was going through. but i havent formally annouced it yet.
i'll probably do that after the first official ob appt.

Did the same exact thing. We enjoyed having this time to celebrate with each other. DH is a lot more private than me and I respected that. At 12 weeks we told both families together at brunch and then the rest of the fam and friends around 14 weeks and work about 18 weeks

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
We couldn't wait. Our families knew within 2 weeks of our BFP, extended family and friends didn't find out until after the first sonogram. I will be 16 weeks on Monday and I plan on telling work next week.
Do what you feel comfortable with. There's no right or wrong, sometimes having a little secret all your own is fun!
Congratulations!

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
We didn't wait at all to tell people. I just figured if things didn't work out then I would want to be able to talk about it with them. I'm not a private person at all so it felt right for me not to hold onto the secret for long. I don't think there is a right time, it's personal.

Re: How far along were you when you told people?
CLOSE friends knew right away.....
parents knew at 12 weeks...
it was a very personal decision for us...because of factors in the relationships we have with our parents..
there is no right or wrong answer - go with your gut & heart!

My parents and 3 of my good friends already know. I'm 6 weeks and I went to the dr at 5 and saw the sac, but did not hear the heartbeat yet. I go in two weeks so I will probaby see how that app't goes and take it from there.

Is that so? If you hear the heartbeat there is a small % of a miscarriage? I always wondered if a high % of girls that miscarry find out at their first app't.

yes the risk goes down to like 3% from I think 15-20% when you see/hear the heartbeat. I do think alot of ppl find out if something is wrong before or at the frist sono
