How far do you live from the hospital you're delivering at??
We are a good 35 minutes away and everyone is telling me we are crazy for not switching to a closer hospital. I wanted to stay with my doctor I have seen since way back when and she delivers at Winthrop. I don't think 35 minutes is THAT far!!!

We live five minutes away. We didn't plan it that way but my doctors use Stony Brook and I live in Centereach.

I am delivering at Beth Israel, which is a good 45 minutes from where we live (assuming traffic isn't bad). I was hesitant about it, but this is our first child, and in reality, I should be in labor long enough to get there.
My doctor is affiliated with them, and since I work in the city, it was much easier to have my appts. there. Plus, I like her and didn't want to switch.

we are about 15-20 if we deliver at southside, 25 to good sam, we havent picked yet.....no copay at good sam, 600$ copay at southside....

I delivered at Winthrop and We live in Lindenhurst. Its a ride...Lucikly I went into labor in the middle of the night ...and no traffic...but it wasnt that bad....

We are about 15 minutes away IF there is no traffic, and no heavy rain..LOL! Otherwise that part of the parkway gets closed because it floods.
Please pray it doesn't rain!!

20-25 minutes and people ask me all the time why I am delivering "so far away." I am having a scheduled C-section but I know that there may still be reasons to have to get there quickly. In most cases, women have plenty of time to get to the hospital.

Overnight: 15 minutes
Daytime: 35 minutes
That's what we get for having to go into Port Jeff during the summer season!

I was induced, so it didn't really matter, but it was probably about 15 minutes with no traffic and about 30 with. Since it was Staten Island, there was always traffic. LOL.

Lindenhurst to LIJ - probably about 40 minutes.
My Mom lives about 3 min from LIJ so as labor progresses we may go hang out there until it's time to go to hosp.

I live on LI and my hospital is in Boro Park, Brooklyn. I will be staying at my parents hoose which is like 10 mins. away from the hospital.
