How far in advance are you having your shower?

I am due May 31 and thought about the Saturday before Easter (April 7) as we may have family around then (most live out-of-state).

Or, around mom's birthday - April 28. That would be another good excuse to have family around.

What is a good amount of time before the due date to have the shower?

I was thinking around 30 weeks?

Don't know why, but that's always what was in my head.

I am having mine on January 27th, I will be 3 days shy of 32 weeks

I think it's your personal preference. Mine was at 36 weeks, but some people feel that's too close in time...I thought it was perfect. Then again, DD came a bit past 40 weeks.

I'm not having one with this baby, but with DS I had mine at 33 weeks.

i think thats a perfect time. i had mine at 36 almost 37 weeks and i was VERY uncomfortable.

For DD, I had my shower at 36 weeks.

I was surprised i even got one, it was very small, and my very superstitious family wanted it as close to my due date as possible. They felt i needed too much before hand to wait til after baby was born.

min is March 18, only bc my sister will be in from hawaii where she lives, i will be 34 weeks.........

Im having mine April 15th.

I wanted to be no later then 32 weeks PG cause I just know I will not be happy with how I look and not want to out an dthe center of attention for so many hours any later.

Plus I have a history of pre term labor and want a shower! LOL

We are having ours 2 months before, that way, we can get the nursery ready, and have time to get the things we don't get at the shower.

I just told my DH yesterday that whoever is planning it needs to do it by the first week in March the latest...I will be 31 weeks then. I do not want to be uncomfortable and miserable the whole time!

Mine is March 10th... I will be 32 weeks... it was the date that worked out the best...

Mine is Jan 13th, I'll be 33 weeks.

I'm due the first week of July and we're thinking May for the shower.

Mine is set for March 31 - I'll be 34 weeks and 4 days.

I will be about 32 weeks. I wanted to have enough time to organize everything before the baby comes.

Im due Jan. 26th and my family threw my shower Dec. 10th.

i'm not sure when they are throwing my shower cause i'm in Nc and all my family is in ny so i know i will be going to ny for the shower. So it would probaly would be around feb or march cause i can't travel they say after what 32 weeks. i have to let my mom know that. She usually does it 2 months before like she did for my bridal shower.

I had mine at 32 weeks....and then DD was born early the following week at 33 weeks. I guess she just wanted to join the world to use all her new stuff and had no patience like her mommy

I was 34/35 weeks when I had mine. I had DS 4 weeks later

I had mine late (two weeks too late actually). It was at 36 weeks. It was mainly because of schedule conflicts (Cow Harbor Day).

I think it's best to do it before 34 weeks but that's JMHO.

If anyone's doctor thinks they're going early, one thing you want to make sure of is who bought the car seat. It was the one thing we absolutely needed. Lucky for me, my SIL brought it to the hospital.
