How far in advance before your due date did you install your car seat??

Sorry to crash but I figured I ask the experts!

I'm only 33 weeks but I was wondering when I should consider installing our Lil One's car seat? I know I def want to have it inspected beforehand as well.

I usually make DH do it before we go home from the hospital. If it's your first I would do it before hand because sometimes there a pain to get it just right to line up.

I had mine in def 1 month poss 2 months before my EDD.

It just so happened that the safety inspectors were @ BRU one day, so I grabbed my car seat and went on my way!

Glad I did it early - she was one week early.

We took it out of the box and figured out how to use it as well as the base, a couple of weeks before. DH actually installed it one of the days I was in the hospital after DS was born.

Once I found out my induction date. But I kind of new if I was to go into labor, DH would go home at some point an install it before he had to pick usd up at the hospital

We had it installed about 1 month before my due date. I ended up going 2 1/2 weeks early, so we glad were totally prepared.

DH installed it when we were leaving for the hospital for me to be induced.

But my DH is certified in car seat safety, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

For DS1, I had it done by the inspectors on the Wednesday before I had him (he was born on a Sunday). For DS2, he was in the NICU so I did it when I came home from the hospital. DS came home a few days later.

I was hospitalized at 33 weeks. When I was released first thing DH and I did when we got home was install the carseat! I didn't have Ryan for another 6 weeks. But I wanted to be safe not sorry.

DH did is while I was in the hospital, I think he actually didnt do it until the morning we brought DS home!

you mean it should be done before the kid is born???? LOL

seriously, never got one in before the baby arrived and i've done this twice. first time, DH found a guy who could do install, second time he did it himself.
