How far in advance did you book newborn photo shoot?

Seems like everyone books so far in advance - why? I would think you can't pick a date until the baby actually comes!

I want to get them, so I want to make sure I book at the right time. Thanks!

i booked mine at 13/14 weeks

they book up fast because they have limited space each month because you never know the due date

I booked pretty early. Some are booked up to 6 months in advance.

Basically, I told her my due date and she put me in her schedule. I just emailed her to say that I am going into the hospital this Thursday, so we picked a definite day then.

I think they just use your estimated due date as a guide for their schedule since the photoshoots usually take place in the first two weeks after the baby is born. When you know a date, or right after you have the baby, you let the photographer know and you set the actual date.

I started emailing the people I was interested in around 8 weeks to gather info. I booked for both maternity and newborn around 12.5 weeks.

Booked pretty early -- around 8 or 9 wks.

I knew that photographers book up fast.

You don't get a specific date when you book, they just fit you in around your EDD. As others said, there are a lot of photogs that book up early and I didn't want to wait until last minute.

I booked her when I was like 8 or 9 weeks or so. I just told her my due date so she knows around when it's going to be and she will fit me into her schedule.

I let my photographer know when I was about 15 weeks that I was due in April. Just this week she asked me my actual EDD.

i discussed with the photographer about 13-14weeks. with mine they dont book you for a specific date, you just tell them when youre due and the know they may be contacted within the month surrounding that date.

I booked mine the day after my first sono which was around 10 weeks. I wanted to make sure I got the date!

Around 16 weeks. They book early!!

Thanks everyone. Just doesn't make sense to me since the date isn't actually "booked" but guess I have to get on this!

ummmm I still haven't and I think we're having the baby in 2 weeks!

I think we're going to have the photographer who did our wedding do it..they're really laid back, so when we asked about it they were like "sure no problem".....LOL

Maybe DH and I will talk about it today
