how frequent - ped visits?

DS went for his 2 week visit on friday and his ped said he didnt have to go back until 8 weeks "since he was doing so well" ... is that the norm? I thought there were vaccines in between 2-8 weeks?



ETA - he got Hep B at 2 weeks.

i went 1 week after he was born. this week i'll be going again...technically his 1 minth appt at 5 weeks old. not sure when he has t go again.

have gone every month so far.
Week after birth, at 2 weeks old-then
1 month
2 months
3 and 4 months

For us, DS and DD did not have any shots after the Hep shot until 2 months.

I think after the 2 week visit, the only reason they would bring you back at 1 month is to check the weight gain. If your DC is gaining good weight at the 2 week visit, they will say they don't need to see them until 2 months. Then you should expect some shots at the 2 months visit.

dd went a few times for weight checks, but once the ped saw she was gaining appropriately he put her on a regular schedule.

she has her 2 month well visit this week.

yes, his ped did say "he's gaining great so we will see him at 8 weeks"

he gained 1.5lbs in the first 10days home he's a moose!

It really depends on the ped. For example, our ped does a 3 month checkup, which we missed because no one told us. I read on here that no one has a 3 month. Turns out that they spread out vaccines. So now he will have a 7 month because he is off a month on his vaccines.

Our schedule was:
Two days after we came home from the hospital
Two weeks for a weight check
One month
Two months
Should have had three month
Four months
Five months
Six months
We will have a 7 month
Then 8 months, 10 months, and 12 months

We had one when he was about a week old. Then 2 weeks old for a weight check. Then 1 month and every month there after until 8 months. Then 10 months, 12 months and then every 6 months.
