How hard is it to take a toddler to Disney World?
After going back and forth, DH said we can go back to Disney this December.
The last time we went in the spring, DS#2 was a dream. He was not walking yet and fell asleep in the stroller like clockwork in the late morning. Now he prefers to walk everywhere, throws tantrums when he doesnt get what he wants and is significantly heavier. It is hard for me to carry him for long periods of time. DS#2's nap is also all over the place and he has not fallen asleep in a stroller in a long time, probably since our last Disney trip.
Is taking a toddler just a bad idea?

We went with my 17 month old daugher in August. It wasn't easy but nothing is. We got one of those backpack leashes and when she wanted to walk, we always had that on. Most of the time, she held out hand too but just in case she had the leash thing. We stayed off property so we had a kitchen and a car rental - stocked up on everything at Walmart and we ate breakfast almost every day in our room and brought enough snacks for her for the day plus turkey coldcuts and cheese sticks if it was too long for her to wait for lunch. Surprisingly, we got in a good nap one day and got to go back for the parade at night. We didnt know if she'd be afraid of the fireworks so we left before Wishes. Overall, I think it was very doable. It was HOOOOOOOOOOT in August but not super crowded. Although there will be crowds around the holiday in December, at least you won't be applying sunblock every hour!

Re: How hard is it to take a toddler to Disney World?
IMO it is very easy. We just got back from taking our 5yo and 16 mo. It was my 16mo's first time. The reason why I think it is easy is because they eat what you eat, it can save you on buying an extra meal as they can just eat off your plate. We didn't have a problem with DS and walking. He was either in the stroller or one of us held him so he could get out. When he wanted to walk/run around we found places for him to do so.(play areas, splash areas) He rode many rides and loved meeting the characters. We always had snacks and drinks on hand just in case. We did bring have toys to help him in line but we really didn't use them. Many of the ques now are very interactive and can entertain the kids while we were in line and fast pass was our best friend. Also he only takes one nap a day, so he took his in his stroller, but many people go back to the hotel.

Re: How hard is it to take a toddler to Disney World?
Im in Disney now w/a 14 month old DD and 4 y/o DS. My DD who normally takes 2 naps has been resting in her stroller when she needs it & has been fine. She's going to bed at night really early. My DS who hasn't napped in over a year keeps dozing off in the stroller mid-day. We stay at a time-share off site so breakfast & dinner are at "home" at their normal times. We only stay a few hours per day at the parks & they have been great. To me it's doable if you don't plan on doing so much in 1 day.

Hoping DS#2 will once again fall asleep in the stroller! We just booked our second trip to Disney for this December.
