How long did you wear maternity clothes after the borth of DC?

I know it has only been about 9 days and my tummy has gone down considerably, but I feel like I will be in my maternity clothes forever! When were you able to fit into regular clothes again?

Shirts I fit into right away.
Pants on the other hand... I still don't fit into most of my pre-pregnancy pants - DS is 7 months old!!!. I can squeeze into a few pairs, but had to go up a size in pants.
It was about 1 month that I was so bloated and mostly wore sweats or elastic topped shorts. I actually found some non-maternity elastic top shorts and capris at Old Navy which was nice, because maternity ones were fallling down. At about 2 months post partum I felt like wearing regular pants again, but I think I have have hips now when I never had them beofre, so up a size I went and stayed.

I wore them for a few months, it honestly took me 1/2 of a year till my stomach was back to normal, but i was a lil over weight to start....iwas able to stay home for about 6 weeks which was good...go out and buy some cute zip up suits that helps too

It's been 15 days and I'm wearing regular tops and regular pre pregnancy leggings, I still have a good 8-10 pounds to lose so I'm not even attempting to try on regular things that fit before...my stomach is basically gone, its my hips and azz thats got to shrink now..which I don't think will be as easy..

It's been 15 days and I'm wearing regular tops and regular pre pregnancy leggings, I still have a good 8-10 pounds to lose so I'm not even attempting to try on regular things that fit before...my stomach is basically gone, its my hips and azz thats got to shrink now..which I don't think will be as easy..

I was one of those freaky people who had to go out and buy smaller jeans about a week after I had my son....but I quickly gained all my weight back!

a while, maybe 3 months? I think it depends on the clothe you wear too. I wore really form fitting pants, sooooooo I took quite a bit

Shirts right away...maybe a few maternity ones. But I'm still in maternity jeans and I'm at 2 months pp.

Last time I was in regular pants at 3 months. That's my goal.

About 1 month. I think it was longer the 1st time. I don't remember exactly.

Umm, a while
I wore maternity pants until about 4 months PP b/c my pre-pregnancy pants were size 0-2 and it's still not happening. Then I broke down and bought clothes sizes up and am now back in 4-6 but have lost 60lbs - but my body is NOT the same.
It takes time - at least it did for me (almost 10 months PP!)

I wore maternity bottoms (jeans/pants) until they finally felt like they were going to fall off. So 3 to 3-1/2mths? I was lazy and didnt think I could fit into my regular stuff.

Just before I went back to work, I tried my old clothes.... i fit into dress bottoms but not jeans well I fit into my jeans but not as well as I'd like.

It took me like 4 weeks I did have a c section too. It sucks I know but it takes time for those damn hips to go back!

I had dd in Jan and was still wearing maternity jeans at Easter. I think by the end of April I fit back into my jeans without the huge muffin top.

ETA: Pregnancy totally changes your body. I lost all the weight I had gained plus some two weeks after I had her.

I was able to wear my regular tops right away but my regular pants I didn't even bother trying since I was so bloated and sore after my c-section so all I wanted to wear were comfy stretchy pants, anything with an elastic waist. Now at 2 months post partum I'm still sticking to my "comfy" pants and can squeeze into my old jeans but they are too tight so I will not be wearing them anytime soon my hips are definitely not what they used to be after the pregnancy so I will be buying one size up!

I wore mine for three months. I was normal weight in good shape prior to getting pg and gained 30lbs as of the day i delivered. Even at the point where I had lost most of the weight my uterus still had not gone down completely (it wasn't mushy - just like a lesser pg belly). I didn't buy new clothes b/c it was only my belly area where the clothes didn't fit...everywhere else was still in my old size so maternity clothes fit better. One day my stomach magically just went back and my old clothes fit. I don't think my experience is common but, it does happen and i even BF - everyone's body is different - so no worries!

For me...only a few days. I came home from the hospital on Wednesday, and I wore a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans on that Friday when I went to see DD in the NICU. I had only gained 13lbs during pregnancy though (DD was born 7 weeks early).

i wasnt comfortable in my old clothes until DD was almost 3 months

i should add, I gained 27 lbs in the pregnnacy but lost it all in 2 weeks - but still felt very bloated and was recovering from my c section

Pants probably a few weeks, then I went and bought some jeans and such at Old Navy which were 1-2 sizes bigger than my prepreggo size.

Shirts honestly there are still alot of shirts that dont fit me a year later. I gained a lot in my belly and had a c/s so it has taken alot to get it to "normal" that and my chest took a hit and is not the same so some of my shirts are busting at the chest area.

But I would say I wore nursing or maternity tops exclusively for 2-3 weeks.

Wait!!! We are supposed to stop wearing maternity clothes after having the baby?!?!?!

Seriously, pants took a while and shirts fit funky after having DS. After about 3 months I was consistantly in regular clothes. Although I didn't wear many maternity pants. I wore elastic pants, so they just expanded with me in the last few months of PG and contracted with me postpartum.

same with me
its been 11 days
i lost 23 out of 37 pounds; shirts fit; stomach is virtually gone but my a$$, hips and thighs need some work

DS is a little over 3 weeks old and I'm still mostly wearing maternity clothes. I'm only 5 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight, but my body is totally different. My hips seem significantly wider than they were before getting pregnant. I can't even imagine fitting into most of my regular clothes right now.

I wore my regular size clothes 8 days after giving birth. I just wore yoga or drawstring pants those few days after. I wore a girdle home from the hospital and it helped to reduce my stomach very quickly!!! I only gained 18 lbs during my pregnancy and it was only in my belly. I actually lost more weight than I gained after giving birth.
