I have a mini co-sleeper bassinet and he was in there till 4 months. DH and I liked him in our room, and I wasn't ready for him to be in his crib. Plus, if you are BF, it is so much easier having him in the room. He took naps in his crib though, so he would be okay with the transition when it got to that point.
It is one of those things that you won't know until the baby is here.

2 weeks. They were in it together and I started getting worried because they would turn their heads to the side and their faces would be right up against the side of the bassinet.

I never used one... right into the crib for both our kids. Worked really well for STTN relatively early.

3 months and then into the crib. For naps DC sleeps in a bassinet but DC is getting a little too big for it now.

We did not have a bassinet, we used a PNP
for dd #1, she slept in it for 5 weeks and then went into her crib
for DS #2, he slept in it for the first week and then we put him in the crib
IMHO, the crib from day 1 (or shortly thereafter) is the way to go but it depends on what you are comfortable with
with ds, we kept him in the room with us for a week due to me having a lot of pain from my c-section and it made BF'ing easier but I sleep much better when he is in his crib (and you do not hear every single noise they make)

We had DS in the PNP for the first week in our room...then he went into the crib in his room.

First DD - 3 months
Second DD - by 2 months she was in the crib
My kids were also very active and they outgrew the bassinet very fast.

DS stayed in the bassinet until he was 3 months old. DD only stayed in it until she was 6 weeks old because she was not comfortable it anymore.
