How long do you plan on going on maternity leave for?
DD1: stayed out for 4 months
DD2: stayed out 7 months
This time: Not sure probably 7 months again
I will be using my own time and taking leave w/out pay for the remainder of the time.
What are you ladies planning on doing?

Unfortunately, 7 - 8 weeks. Taking my vacation time the week of my due date and then 6 weeks after I give birth. Its busy season at work and I can't take anymore than that

Probably only a week or two and then going back 3 days a week.

my DH was telling me that his coworker in London gets paid like a 1 year of maternity leave..is that true? I wish we had a better maternity leave policy!

6 weeks paid (8 weeks if I have a C-section)
6 weeks unpaid (Using vacation days to get paid.)

I will take my 12 weeks of FMLA and then I may add an extra week or two of vacation on top of that if I have the days left.

I will take the full 12 weeks FMLA.
I will get paid at 100% of my salary for the first 8 weeks (c/s). Then the remaining 4 will be paid using my vacation and personal time.

Totally off for about 6 weeks, then another 6 working a day or two a week from home. Back in the office between 12 and 16 weeks.
With DS1, I took off 4.5 months.

How long do you plan on going on maternity leave for?
With DD1, I went back around 5w. It was awful.
This time I will be taking the full 6 whole weeks. 2 (hopefully 3) will be paid (using what remaining sick/vacation I have left), the rest STD. I'd kill to take more but we just can't afford it.

With DS I took 12 weeks FMLA. About 6 of that was unpaid.
With this one I am requesting 14 weeks (we are allowed to apply for up to 4 weeks of additional unpaid leave on top of FMLA). Probably 6 of it will be unpaid again.

12 weeks, 4 weeks will be paid bc that's all the sick time I have then the other 8 will be unpaid. I will be home with the baby for a little extra though bc im due in July and I'm a teacher and the 12 weeks start sept 1!

With DD, I took 3 mos but worked from home for an additional 3 1/2 mos. No paid maternity leave but I get 4 weeks disability at 60% pay. This is not NY disability but through my employer that provides it for us.
This time, I'm going to try and take the 6 1/2 mos maternity. It will be combination vacation/sick leave and unpaid. It was really hard working from home those few months with the baby but since I was technically home for 6 mos with DD, I want to do the same with DS.

I heard this is true also for Ireland nurses. Must be nice!

I'm taking 2 weeks disability then 2 weeks vacation time.
Last time I took 8 weeks disability ($170/wk) and 2 wks vaca then some unpaid for about 11 weeks.

Very similar to you. DS1 I stayed out 4 months. DS2 I will be going back next week after appx 7.5 months.
