How long do you stay when you go to Dutch Wonderland? Do you go back to the hotel to rest?

The last time we went to DW, it rained and we stayed too long. This time we will make it a quick weekend trip.

How long do you stay at the park?
Do you go back to the hotel to rest?

I think we will take advantage of the preview and go at 3pm and then go all day the next day.

We did the preview night this time and then the next day until noon. We got so much done on the preview night, all we really did the second day was the water park and a handful of rides.

The past 2 times we stayed 2 nights at the hotel. The first night DD played at the hotel pool, then DW the next day. On the day we left we had breakfast and hung out at the pool. We request late check out so we didn't have to rush.

We decided if we go back we'll do 2 days at the park. We'll let the kids play in the pool in the am, lunch and nap, then go. DD needs a solid nap or she's a mess and we think this might work better for us.

We do the preview the night before (which I think starts at 5:30 pm, not 3:00) and then go back in the morning the next day.

We spend time a the hotel pool, nap in the room and also do other things in lancaster. DW is just a part of our trip.

We just came back.

Sunday - arrived around 1:30, enjoyed hotel pool & sprinkler area, did quick dinner at 4, preview started at 5:30. Was there 5:30-8:30

Monday - let kids sleep in a little. Did breakfast at hotel, got to Dutch around 11-11:30. Stayed until closing at 8:30. We did spend close to 2hrs in the water park though.

Tuesday - did pool until check out time and headed home.

This has been our itinerary the last 2 years and it works perfect. Next year we may tack on another day to enjoy some other things, as DS will be older and will be able to handle longer days better.

We were there from 10:45 am until about 5 pm. We did not go back to our hotel room until we left at 5 pm. We probably should have left about 15 minutes before we did because at that point my kids had a melt down as we were on our last ride. It was a great park. We never got to the water park area. We loved DW.

Re: How long do you stay when you go to Dutch Wonderland? Do you go back to the hotel to rest?

I am going to DW in a week and we've been going back and forth about doing the preview evening before our full day. We are only planning on spending one day at DW. Will we get in everything if we DON'T do the preview evening and just spend a full day there?
Thanks!

I think it depends on how much time you spend in the water area and the height of your kids. DD is over 42" which meant she could go on every single ride. DS is only 34", so there was a bunch he couldn't do. And DD will go on a ride 3-4 rides if we let her, and most of our visit there was absolutely no lines, so the ride operators just let them stay on and ride as many times as they wanted.

Both kids that are going are over 36" but under 42". We're staying at Eden Resort so we'll have their water park area so personally, I'd prefer to concentrate on actual rides at DW and do the water park afterwards. Thanks for responding.
