How many children are in your DC's class? Also bday party protocol question....
We haven't gotten the friendship list yet ....
DS's b-day party is Oct 8th and I have no idea what the story is this year whether we have to invite the whole class or just boys/just girls or if we can mail invites home
So, for now I am ordering invites/party goods as if ALL are coming and am hoping I am getting enough....How many kids are in your DC's class?
He's 1st grade ...Whats your schools birthday party protocol as far as inviting?

26 and were told we can only send in invites if we were inviting the whole class. Otherwise they would have to be mailed home.

DD's K class is 18. Not sure about DS's 3rd grade class. It's usually around 20, give or take 2 or so.
If using the classroom as the delivery method, we had to invite the entire class. Of course, if you use USPS, you are free to invite anyone you want.

our school rule is you can only send invites thru school if you invite whole class, all the girls or all the boys.

Re: How many children are in your DC's class? Also bday party protocol question....
My son in first has 20 kids and the rule is to bring them in has to be entire class or all girls/all boys, etc. 3rd grade has 24 students and 5th grade has 23.
I bet you will have to ask on the list - my daughter is Oct 15 and I usually have to beg the teacher for the list 2 wks before. In my school they send home a note asking for permission to publish address/phone # from parents and if not all parents return the paper - that holds up the list going home :(

I don't know yet.. but typically it's between 20-23 for each.
I believe the rule here is no invites through the school at all.

Re: How many children are in your DC's class? Also bday party protocol question....
our class sizes were about 18-20 for 1st grade.
For our 1st grade, invites had to be mailed home unless you invite the whole class. No one can dictate who you have to invite but we invited the whole class.
We have a Sept birthday so I used to call the teacher for the number of kids & she would get me the list asap. I usually held the party that first week in Oct.

Every year Jordan has had between 24-26 kids in her class. FTW: I think you are nuts if you invite the whole class.

That was the rule for kindergarten and I had "thought" that also went for mailed invitations as well ...I wonder if I was mistaken
His K teacher only gave us phone #'s on the friendship list (no addresses )

Re: How many children are in your DC's class? Also bday party protocol question....
we didnt get the list yet. she just sent home a permission nslip yesterday to have our DC's name and info on it. I did hear that the cvlass enrollment was larger than normal this year - I think we have around 25 kids! Thats a LOT of kids to be inviting. (I could be wrong on that # but I know the principal said enrollment was unusually high this yr) Ill find out at back to school night the exaqct #.In pre-k the rule was all boys/all girls/or everyone and the invite could be sent to school, otherwise it had to be mailed. Not sure how to go about finding out the rules in K????

Have no idea how many kids are in the class, no list yet. But we got the rules home in her take home folder. if you distribute invites in the class everyone has to be invited.
