question about tent rental/ first bday party
Hey ladies... I'm a busy bee planning DS's first bday party, invites are out! Just confirmed a clown... PS: shout out to sweets13 for recommending Adrenaline Entertainment when I did a search on entertainment. Anyhow I got the best rate from them for a clown. now I'm on to tents...here's my dilemma... personally I don't want a tent. I'm hoping for a beautiful sunny warm day....however, I have to be prepared for rain....so where can I rent a tent and for how much? and lets face it do i want to be stuck with a tent up if it turns out to be gorgeous? and two can i purchase one thats not too and perhaps not open them unless it rains? sorry for all the questions but just want to get things in order since ds's party is mothers day wknd and i know thats bz time for everything.
TIA

Re: question about tent rental/ first bday party
I rented a 20 X 20 framed tent, 4 round tables and 40 chairs and a banquet table from All American Tent Company in Massapequa for $375. I also got 4 sides for $20 each because my party is in April so it might be cold.
HTH. Good luck!

Re: question about tent rental/ first bday party
I bought two of these from Modell's for DDs 1st b-day. If it rains, they'll go up. If not, they're always good to have if you own a home. They were $119.00

We have a similar one, which we have had for 2 yrs. We put it up at every BBQ we have, even if it's sunny. Not everyone likes to be/eat/sit in the sun

Re: question about tent rental/ first bday party
I am renting a 20x30 tent from All American and 6 tables with 60 chairs...also includes a banquet table and I asked for the side panels with windows in case it rains. If it's a gorgeous day we won't put the panels up but I personally like the tent regardless because sitting under the sun drives me crazy if I am not at the beach.
I think that for all that I am getting it came in at around $500.

Not sure about Queens but they are coming to my home a day or two before the event (they call in advance) to set up and then a day or two after they come to take-down and pick up.

Re: question about tent rental/ first bday party
I hear ya about the tent, I am hoping for a sunny day for my dd's bday this May too! But I had a tent for my first dd's bday and it was great - it was nice out but HOT and the tent kept everyone cool. So it was still nice to have even if it doesn't rain.

I can say that the company we used was great though - they brought a HUGE nice tent, and the rental price included all the tables, chairs, linens, etc so we paid less than $500 and it was def. more than the tent itself. And you cannot beat someone to put it up and take it down for you as well!
But if you will have lots of outdoor parties, it could be good to buy one too.
