How many jobs did you apply to?
Before you finally got offered one?
I have been job searching for almost 5 months and over 50 applications and only 3 interviews and no offerings.
Is this normal?

Yes.
I've applied for hundreds of jobs and only got calls for maybe five.

1000's, with maybe 5 interviews. I got 4 out of 5 of the jobs.
Finally an old classmate recommended me to his employer and I got a steady job.

My husband spent 2 years looking applied to 300 plus jobs 24 interviews and offered 1 job. He works as a buyer

How many jobs did you apply to?
I'm in a different situation b/c I've been in high ed for 17 years - it only took me 2 months to find my job when I moved here last year.
Are you able to take temp jobs through an agency? I found that it always worked for me b/c it was a way to network for companies that I wouldn't normally think of and they saw that I was a valuable employee.
