Re: How many people are invited to your baby shower
Ah - the joys of big Italian families
Keeping mine to the bare minimum is about 70 people and while a handful won't be able to make it - they still give gifts so I get yelled at to have more on my registry.
But I do appreciate it.
Did you put the next size up carseat on the registry? If you have a snugride for the infant seat, Graco makes a swing that it can sit right into. Maybe that?
If your family is anything like mine they won't get you gift cards - they want to have a big box to present. But - remember that you can return things and get a store credit. That might be worth playing around with

I did get the next size up carseat and that was bought already.
My friend has a travel swing that she said Fisher Price makes - but I can't find it at either place - I would love to have that so I can bring it to my moms.
My aunts purchased my glider and ottoman so that's taken care of.
I feel like by the time DH's family gets the invites there will be nothing left for them to buy besides Diapers.

Re: How many people are invited to your baby shower
I had an invite list of like 52. I got yelled at several times by my mom that this was an obscene amount of people and I needed to cut the list. It's the same friggin list I gave her for my bridal shower and she never said anything then! And there was no way I could cut people without making others feel bad. She had the nerve to call me before the invites went out and figure out a way to cut 3 people from the list so she could have it at the place she wanted to!
I don't think your number is high. It all depends on how big the family is, how close everyone lives, and how many friends you have. Everyone is different. I've been to bridal and baby showers with guests ranging in number from 15-100+.
