How many times a day does your baby eat cereal?
I am currently feeding my 4 1/2 month old daughter cereal mixed with fruit or vegetables 3 times a day. (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) each with a bottle as well as an afternoon bottle and night time bottle.
Do you feel this is too much cereal to give? Am I supposed to be giving her cereal only once a day and only the fruit/veggie at the other feedings?
What do you do? I believe my pediatrician said to do this but my mother feels it is alot.
My daughter does not spit up alot and is still hungry about every 3 hours.

That does sound like a lot for a 4 1/2 mo, but if DC is still drinking enough BM or formula and your ped says it's okay then I'm sure it is. My DD is 6 mo and she only eats solid food for breakfast and dinner. We havent started her on a 3rd meal, but probably will in the next few weeks.

I wouldn't give cereal for lunch either., just a fruit or veggie...my concern would be that cereal is binding and I would be afraid of constipation issues.

Yes I started doing oatmeal cereal because I felt that rice cereal was too binding.
My daughter is on the larger side for a 4 month old- 16 1/2 pounds 26 1/2 inches. My doc. told me to start cereal because she was just not satistifed with just formula anymore.
I think I might try doing cereal 2 times and then just veggie for lunch.

2x a day. But he's only eating oatmeal right now (DS is 4 months). Once we start on barley, he will eat that 3x a day. When we start to introduce actually food, I think we will do 3x a day.

well, in the am, he gets fruit mixed with a grain but thats it! he never took to cereal.
