DS is 5 months and we got the go-ahead for rice cereal. Did you all start with once or twice a day with the cereal? BTW he will be getting it in a bowl, not in his bottle.
TIA!!

i started them off once a day.
they actually hated it so we did the oatmeal instead

i think after a month, i started twice a day. they needed that time to learn how to eat solids!
it was really cute.

We started with it once a day in the morning and waited a few weeks before starting it twice a day. Just wanted to make sure she did ok with it first.

Started at 3-4 mos in a bowl also once a day...at night. Switched to once a day in morning with fruit around 5 mos. DD doesn't love cereal - likes it better with fruit mixed in. Her ped said it's ok if she doesn't take it and to only try giving it to her once a day.
She also takes a veggie in the early evening. I assume this will change to 3 meals a day once we have her 6 mo appt next week.

Once a day at first...it took her a few days to 'get' how to eat- so don't be concerend if it just dribbles out of their mouth at first.
They have to learn how to push it back and swallow.

Just be careful because rice can be binding- so if you notice the baby gets constipated switch to oatmeal.

Right, I am definitely concerned about this b/c DS is already on Alimentum for digestion problems, so if the rice gives him a problem in a few days, the doctor said to switch to oatmeal. Thank you!
