we don't make much, but we make it work!
I agree!!! My DH makes an OK living. Nothing to get too excited about but we get by. Its more important to me to be a SAHM then to live more comfortably.
Even though when our son was a baby we were JUST getting by..... I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to stay home with my him.
We do have to sacrafice though! and DH works 6 sometimes 7 days a week and LONG hours for the overtime money.

We do ok. Luckily we don't really have expensive taste and are able to live within our means. We also moved off LI and while our house was not that much cheaper, it's enough to make a difference.
DH teaches college and while he could leave to make more money in the corporate world (his area is economics and finance) the fact that he has such a flexible schedule as a professor will make our lives a little easier when we have kids. He only has to be on campus three days a week and one of those is only a couple office hours. We'll save on child care and he'll get to be a more hands-on dad.

Together, we do alright. I teach and DH is in retail. However, on LI, it just isn't enough. We make what pretty much everyone else makes, and with college loans, it is hard. 7 years ago, what we make would be great. Sadly, incomes have not inflated like houses, so we're up a creek without a paddle.

we make a decent amount but not enough (right now at least) for me to be a SAHM. Maybe a part time SAHM. We'll see.
