how much cardio is sufficient?
To drob lbs? I ask bc I'm limited on the time I have with a Dh who works long hours, kids who are up at 4am & working out is extremely limited.
Right now I do a 1 hr zumba class & do daily brisk walks with the double stroller for 30 mins. I'm following a low carb WW plan but the scale is not moving. I'm getting extremely fustrated bc I never struggled with losing weight. I'm starting to get depressed looking in the mirror & seeing the gut.

Re: how much cardio is sufficient?
i would do cardio intervals to maximize your time. For example on the treadmill, start with a 2 minute warm up jog then 1 minute as fast as you can, 2 minutes slow jog or walk then 1 minute as fast as you can, 2 minutes slow jog or walk and keep repeating for 20 minutes.
i would also incorporate strength training somewhere in your week

I agree with the pp that if you are short on time, intervals are the way to go and also, definitely incorporate strength training as well. I have seen my best results when I add in a day or two of weights.

Re: how much cardio is sufficient?
If your diet is spot on, not much. When I lost most of my weight I was doing 3 cardio sessions a week. 2 hiit and one steady state. I also trained 4 days a week

Re: how much cardio is sufficient?
It sounds like you are getting enough cardio but like pp suggested you may want to try adding some weight training and switching some of your cardio to HIIT. Look at Tabata it is an intense 4 minute workout. If the scale is not moving I would suggest taking a closer look at what foods you are eating. Also why are you on a low carbohydrate diet? It may be that your by limiting carbohydrates you are taking in more fat and protein than your body needs. This is something that you can only figure out by changing. Keep in mind most people will only lose 1-2 pounds a week but by exercising you may be losing inches. It might be helpful for you to take your measurements and keep track of monthly changes. Good luck and try not to get depressed- a healthy weight loss plan aims to make lasting changes and this can take time.

Re: how much cardio is sufficient?
Thank you ladies....the reason I do low carb is bc its the only way I actually lose. I don't eat much processed food & stick with lean meats like chicken & turkey. It's possible that I lost inches but clothes are.tighter & I feel my belly grew. I have a large muffin top that I did not have last year. I'm planning on going to the Dr too to check ny thyroid.
