Should I stop the weights and do all Cardio?
I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks. I have been doing 20-25 mins on the treadmill, weights and then another 15-20 mins. on the bike.
I am thinking I need to do all cardio to lose the weight first and then worry about toning up.
Has anyone gone through this and does it work?
Thanks :)
(I have lost 4 1/2 lbs. in 6 weeks and 10 yrs. ago I did ww and lost 30 lbs. in 6 months with doing NO exercise at all)

Cardio alone will not burn as many calories as a combination of cardio and weight training.

But shouldn't you lose weight before you think about gaining muscle? I only do about 15-20 mins. of weight training and 40 mins of cardio now. I would increase to 1 hour of cardio.

For women, it takes at least 6 weeks to gain 1lb of muscle, so the muscle gain during that time is not going to contribute to weight gain. If you've been strength training, and you stop, your metabolism is going to slow down and then so is your weight loss.
Instead of ditching the weight training, try switching it up, maybe so more body weight exercises or plyos. Go on Youtube and look for some great circuit workouts.
Also, doing strength training during your weight loss keeps your skin tighter :)

Re: Should I stop the weights and do all Cardio?
2 things my trainer always tells me
1- your DIET is the key
2- You cannot just do cardio to loose weight you need a combination...if you do Cardio as majority of your workout the minute you stop the weight will start to creep back where as with Weights and Toning it takes a lot longer
