How much does it cost to put up crown molding?
Any idea?
i hear it is extremely hard to do yourself? is that true? Wondering on what it costs to hire someone to do it vs. doing it yourself.

no idea as my Dad is a carpenter and did it all for me...
however, it doesn't look that hard. my Dad even though he Made original crown moldings for a living, bought it already made to save time and money at home depot and slapped it up himself. you do have to have exact measurements and be able to cut the pieces to the size you need. my dad and my brother did our whole house in about a day.
ETA: my DAd spent a few hundred dollars and he did our living room, 4 bedrooms and the hallway. He also did new base too.

According to my husband, the molding itself usually starts at about a dollar a foot (and goes up quickly depending on the size)...My husband usually charges about $5 a foot to install it...
