how much formula does a typical 6-week-old drink
I BF and use formula, but I just moved to pumped milk and formula (decreased the actual latched-on breast feeding) because I went back to work. I have no idea what's a typical amount for my DS to be drinking per day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you're creating a schedule for your baby, keep in mind that at 1 and 2 months most babies need:
• 12 to 24 ounces of breast milk or formula in a 24-hour period, though this amount may be as high as 36 to 40 ounces. (Get specific tips on how to tell whether your baby is getting enough breast milk or formula.)
• About 15.5 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period — this includes nighttime sleep and naps. Three naps during the day (morning, afternoon, and evening) is typical. Read more about sleep needs at this age.
• Time for playing, developing important muscles, working on new skills, and interacting with you. Try reading to your little one, giving your baby a massage or bath, or going for a stroller walk.

My DD takes about 4-5 oz every 3 hours or so. That doesn't mean she always takes that amount and I know it seems to vary depending on the baby.

that's my DS, he has about 25-30oz per day and he'll be 7 weeks on Friday.
He does BF about 3-4 times a day but for small time periods

my DS is only on Formula. He takes anywhere from 5-6 oz a feeding (sometimes only 4).
He eats:
9AM
12-1PM
4-5PM
7-8PM
11PM-12M
4AM
So he eats about 30-35 oz's a day.
He'll be 8 weeks on Sunday.

This sounds more like what my DS is now doing. I wanted to get a feel for what is typical. My DS is a large baby though. He tends to want less early in the day, but can eat more later, especially if I'm giving him expressed milk. Last night was crazy! I gave him 5 oz. of expressed milk. Within 2 hours he had also eaten 3 oz. of formula.

Maybe I am feeding too much... but my 2week old DD takes 3oz and sometimes 4oz every 3-4 hours... I breast feed in between too

Alexa takes 4 oz every 3-4 hrs except at night she goes about 7-8 hrs.

Maybe I am feeding too much... but my 2week old DD takes 3oz and sometimes 4oz every 3-4 hours... I breast feed in between too
Thats exactly what my DD was doing at that age minus the BM
Sadie will be 7 weeks on Friday. We make her 5oz bottles. In the morning after she's slept 5 or 6 hours, she tends to want 6oz.
