Re: how much is appropriate for a communion gift?

depends on who it's for and how close you are.

We don't give less than 100 for anyone. Closer to 150 normally (or more if it's close family)

We treat Communions the same way as Christenings!

Re: how much is appropriate for a communion gift?

I was thinking now that I'm a family to give $100 cash. I used to give $100 savings bond, only paying $50.

Re: how much is appropriate for a communion gift?

For friends kids, we normally buy savings bonds, usually a $150 bond for $75. If it's family, we usually do a $200 bond and pay $100. I'm not about giving cash for Christenings or Communions. But, that's just me!
