How much milk does your 1 year old drink?

My ped never said anything about the amount and I forgot to ask. She drinks 3-4 bottles a day with 7 oz. Sometimes she doesn't drink all of it. I would say on average, she probably drinks about 20-25 oz a day. (PS - we are trying to transition to the sippy cup).

One of my friends said that was way too much milk per day....

what do you think?

I actually posted on this a little while ago and the average answer was 20-24 oz per day including all milk for the day (even cereal). I posted b/c I thought my ped had said 16 oz per day and as of yet I haven't been able to get DS down to this. He is 14 mos and drinks about 20oz a day - this includes milk in cereal. HTH!

my ped was absolutely adamant that we not go over 18oz a day. We are still in the formula to milk transition, but DD easily drinks 24oz a day. He said the rest should be water, too much milk will block the absorption of iron.

DD drinks 3 bottles with 8oz in them each time. Sometimes she finishes the entire bottle, sometimes she doesn't.

I know every ped is different, but our said she could drink as much as she wanted, but she just *had* to have 10 oz a day to get her calcium.

I think max should be 24 ozs.

I am not really sure how much DS drinks I usually give him 3 cups a day. He sometimes finishes them all, sometimes he doesn't. Probably about 20 oz a day.

my ds is 13 months nad drinks 4 5-6oz a day 20-24oz a day and I think thats just about right

ds drank his milk really well after his birthday.... once he was 14 months old he decided hes a big boy and didnt want the milk or bottle, or milk in a sippy cup.
he currently only has milk with his breakfast.
maybe 6-7 oz.
other than that no other milk. so i try to get in the calcium with bananas and yogurts

Our dr said for him to get 16-24 oz. We have to water down his bottles because he would drink 60oz if we let him, and won't drink a plain bottle of water. Dr said that's good.

Our ped said 16-20 oz. for DD. She drinks about 16 oz.

Hmm one 8 oz and two 4 oz bottles. Shes not a fan anymore it seems and prefers her solids and other liquids...

My ped said 18-24oz a day at that age but not to go below 16 oz. She was more worried about her not getting milk, then getting it.

My DD is still a big milk drinker and drinks about 20 oz a day in her sippys. She eats a lot too and is still only 50% for weight to her height so I wouldn't worry.

My ped. said 16-24 oz. of milk a day, no less than 16 oz. though.

Some days he may only drink 2 sippy cups (8 oz. each) other days if he is really thirty he wouldn't stop drinking if I kept giving him milk...on those days, I will give him watered down juice or just water.

Ours said between 12-24. DS drinks about 12-16. He is slightly anemic so they said that was fine.
