How much Milk does your 16-20 monht old DC drink?
We recently took DS off the bottle and he now drinks all his milk out of a sippy, but I am wondering if he drinks to much milk durign the day.
This is what he drinks:
couple ozs with cereal
Mid mornign- 7 ozs
Mid afternoon -ozs
bedtime -ozs

At 16 months Lucas drinks:
5oz sippy - morning
2oz cereal
3oz sippy - night
He also gets yogurt and cheese to meet his calcium requirements each day.

charlie is only 12mos but I dont plan on changing his milk intake any time soon:
7am - 7oz
12pm - 7oz
4pm - 7oz
I omit the last one b/c he eats a good sized dinner w/water or water mixed w/a little juice at 6:30pm and goes to bed at 7:15.
eta: he gets yogurt & cheese every day

He also get a yo baby yogurt every day and cheese once or twice a week.
So am I giving him too much?

I don't think so. My doctor told me that Lucas needs 12 - 14oz of milk a day and I can substitute cheese and yogurt where he is lacking. I was worried that he was getting too little but the doctor is happy with Lucas' intake.
But overall milk is very important for their development so I think the amount you are giving is fine. When weight becomes an issue - determined by a doctor - then I think the suggestion is to cut back but that's not an issue for your child...no worries!!!

That's what I think but sometimes I see on here the menu of most 17 month olds and it made me thing we were giving him too much.
DS is and has always been on the lower end for weight 25th percentile and at the 50-75 % for height Doc says he is long and lean, so I am not worried about his weihgt.

DD is 18 months
8 ozs for naptime
6 ozs for bedtime
an ounce or two in her cereal in the morning.
sometimes she'll fall asleep for her nap in the car and then she doesn't get the bottle at all.

At 17 months, Thomas only drinks about 6- 10 oz. a day. He eats two yogurts a day and sometimes a drinkable yogurt.

This is about what DS is drinking - he would drink more too! My ped said not to give him more than 16 oz??? Did your ped say this was fine?
