My DH was able to take 3 weeks off. I was happy because since I had a c-section I needed some help. By the end of that time I was begging him to go back.

DH just started the police academy and will not be graduating until after the baby is born. HR actually said to him, you better hope she has the baby on the weekend. I'm lucky if they let him leave to come to the hospital

With our first, she was born on a Wednesday so he took off the Wed, Thur and Fri and went back to work on Monday.
With our 2nd, he was born on a Friday night so he went right back on Monday. His boss actually did not like the fact that he had to drive our dd to the bus stop for the first week and come in a couple of minutes late!!

Dh took one week paternity and one week vacation. He went in a day or two in between.
