How much would a full time nanny cost me?

We're trying to figure out if we can afford to have another child. How much would a nanny cost for a toddler and a newborn? She will work from 8am-6pm M-F.

The cheapest I've heard was 500 a week - but I only know about Brooklyn.

Is that for 1 or 2 kids?

When I was a nanny in NJ for 2 kids (2 yo and 9 mo) I was paid $350/week as a live in (so it was cheaper than live out). I worked about 7 a.m. to 6 or 7 p.m.

I have a friend who has 3 kids, 6 (in school full time), 3 and 10 months she pays 475.00 m-f I think the hours are 6-4. That's in suffolk, and the nanny does not live with them.

it really depends on how many hours/days/kids you have.
i think for the 50 hours you are looking for and 2 kids you can find some for $500 - $600 or so.

Re: How much would a full time nanny cost me?

You can definitely get a full time nanny for $10 an hour, but some may want up to $12 (especially if they drive and have a degree).

At one point, we went through an agency for interviews (wasn't impressed by who they sent)...and the agency told us $12 was average rate.

Honestly, sometimes the ones that accept less offer more...it's really about finding the right fit for your kids.

I live in Nassau
