HOw much would you say you spend on groceries PER MEAL, per night, for dinner

If you added up the costs of your entree and side dishes at dinner, how much would you say it costs, on average.

every day stuff- less then $10 for sure

even last night we walked over to the supermarket grabbed a chicken (pre-made) and mashed potatoes it was $10 total- and we have left overs

we don't eat fancy stuff, I don't cook really- I get alot of stuff at trader joes

2 Chicken Boneless Breasts = $4 or less
2 Sweet Potatoes = $1.50
Asparagus (1/2 bunch) = $1.50
$7 for 2 people
* Chicken was bought while on sale at $1.99/lb or under and broken out into portions for future servings

Sample 2:
4 links Sausage = $3.00
Red Bell Peppers = $1.50
Onions = $0.50
Zatarains Rice = $2.00
Broccoli = $2.00
Tomato Salad (tomato & onion & Basil) = $2.00
$11 for 2 people
* Sausage was bought in the family packs while on sale and broken out into portions for future servings


Sample 3:
2 Aged Angus Steaks = $26.00
Baked White Potatoes = $1.50
Asparagus (1/2 bunch) = $1.50
Semolina Bread = $1.25
$30.25
* where are you going to get a great BBQ steak dinner for $30 bucks? LOL

It depends on what I am cooking.. I like to buy organic chicken and thats kind of expensive. I would say thats about a $10 meal. If I have all the ingredients and its not using meat then definitely under $10.

i would say about $10 per meal per night... we usually spend about $50 a week for about 5 meals... so that would be about right

Every day stuff, usually less than $10/day, but if I'm making a special meal, it could be anywhere from $10-$30.

I'd say between 10 and 20. We're feeding 2 adults 3 children

ETA: We buy only organic and eat veggies with each meal

I'd say about $10 or more...we eat a lot of meat

Plus, I always make extra for lunch or to freeze

I buy tons of meat and freeze, as well as veggies too. I say about $10 too, for me and DH, the kids are obviously a lot less so it skews my results
