How often do you buy a new computer?

Just curious where everyone stands. Maybe every 2or 3 years for me.

Every 4-5 years.

4-5 years for at home, at work I tend to get one every 2-3 years

About every 5 years. I spend all day at work on computers, so I try to avoid them for the most part at home....
As long as it can surf the web, I'm good....

I had my last ibook for 7 years... my new one for 1 year so far (hoping it lasts just as long).

DH pretty much every 3 years to upgrade to the latest/biggest mac. He's a graphic designer.

I have had my lap top for about 3 yrs and its a piece of garbage. I am saving for a Mac Pro and that will prob take me close to a year to get so about 3/4 yrs for me.

We have both a laptop and a desktop. We change one of them every 3-5 years.

We bought a new one after 9 years.

Every 3-4 years I replace my laptop

im on year 4 with my macbook, and looking to get another 2-3 years out of it before i replace it with another mac

When they die. So my current computer is 9 years old, and my current laptop is 5 years old.

I used to game more and bought a new computer every 2-3 years. Since having my son, I do not play games anymore so I'm on year five with my current laptop, although I have upgraded the ram and hard drive.

I had my last desktop for 10 years, and my iBook died after 3. Now I primarily use my work laptop for everything.

When they don't work anymore. My last one was 5 years old & even though I had it on a surge protector, it still died when the power came on again after a blackout, so I had to replace it. Hope this one lasts longer.

DH built it so we really only need to buy certain parts rather than the whole thing.

ummm... whenever i come across a good deal....

im prob a bad example tho, i operate anywhere between 2-5 computers at the house everyday...

my old desktop was 7 years old when it died. my laptop is 1.5 years old, i'm planning on keeping it a long time. DH has a laptop he never uses that is 6 or 7 years old, it had a bad virus, had it serviced & its never been the same.
we both have ipads, i have no idea how long those will last.
my son has a mac desktop that is 4 years old, stepdaughter killed her laptop after about a year, it still works but its all effed up-she's not getting a new one anytime soon.

I had my old desktop for a loong time. I have had my current laptop for 3.5 yrs and its good as new so not getting another anytime soon.
