how old until your baby stopped playing with or using
those Mats that have the little toys that dangle overhead?
we've registered for 3 of them, 1 for our house and 1 for each of our parents houses, but im wondering if its worth it to ask for 3.... did your kids play with them or use them for a few months or a few years?
hubby raised a good point- once the kid starts walking, are they still interested in laying down on the mats?

I would not get 3 pf them. they only use them for a few mths really.
ETA DD was probably 5 mths when she stopped playing with it.

DD used her gym until 6 months or so - after that she was sitting up really well on her own and starting to experiment with crawling backwards and she kind of lost interest.
Up until that point, though, she LOVED it and it was great for her coordination development and rolling over. The nice thing is that the gyms fold up so they are pretty portable - I definitely don't think you need 3.

I think I put it away when they were around 7-8 months.

We had one & to be honest neither of my kids really loved it; as soon as they started rolling, they were off the mat & distracted by other things. We put it away probably around 5 months.
For the other houses, a swing or an exersaucer would be a better choice.

I got two different ones. DD is 2 1/2 months and really getting in to them. She loves the bee on the boppy one! She smiles at it every time it lights up and makes music. I haven't put her on the baby neptune ocean gym. I would either get one or two, and just bring one over to their house since they are portable!

You mean the square tummy time mats? We hardly used ours - As soon as DS could roll over (which he was doing right away - by 6 wks he would do it immediately) we stopped b/c two rolls and he was off on the floor - we have hardwood floors and it was just a hazard. Also, he hated being on his back and would just roll to his belly immediately and never played with the dangling toys much at all. I got much more use out of the foam alphabet mats - i just put big cushy blankets over them and sprawled the toys on it. I wouldn't waste money on 3.

i agree. i wouldn't get 3. they're easy enough to fold and bring with you if you want. my kids never used it or showed any interest in it.

Re: how old until your baby stopped playing with or using
once ds started getting even slightly mobile he wanted nothing to do with it.. i think at about 5 months... if you want to get one for each house i would go for a cheeper one... we only spent about 20.00 on ours and it serves its purpose... while i know others can cost up to 100.00

Re: how old until your baby stopped playing with or using
He used them consistently for a few months. I had 2 of them and that really helped because my son spit up a lot. I could switch to the other one until I got the first one clean again.

Only until 5 or 6 months, once she has able to sit up they were useless.

Re: how old until your baby stopped playing with or using
Same, about 6 months and he lost interest.
It is worth it to have one in the beginning--he used this a lot, and it helped encourage him to lie on his stomach, which he hated. But they are easily portable, I would only get one and bring it back and forth.

Re: how old until your baby stopped playing with or using
I wouldn't register for three. Plus you can usually find them pretty cheap at TJ Max/Marshalls type places if you want an extra one or two. I just recently got one for $5 at TJ Max because the box was opened. I just washed the mat to make sure it was clean.
