Toys or ideas for playing with a 5 week old

My DD is becoming much more alert and sometimes I feel like I need to entertain her more. I let her look in the mirror on her activity mat, we do tummy time, I sing to her, I read to her and try to hold a few toys for her to look at (but she doesn't seem very interested in toys yet). Any other ideas on how we can "play" at this point?

I say anything that you can lay her in with stuff that can hang over her so she can swat at.. pretty much the play matt, and bouncer seat has toys they can swat at.. pretty much all my dd played with at that age. Besides me showing her things that were lying around that house that had interesting shape or color.

Clap hands, bouncy chair with the overhead toys (my DS loved swatting them). He also started getting some joy from his mobile around that time. Sounds like you are doing a great job! Chat Icon

Every thing I read said that at that early age the baby's favorite favorite thing is a human face, specifically MOMMY'S! So from birth to around 6 weeks we just spent countless hours looking at each other, making funny faces, and I would kiss him oh, about, 8,234,643 times :) From then to now his fave things seem to be the activity mat and his bouncer, since he can now reach the hanging animals and things so its a lot more 'fun' for him. He's also in love with his hands right now, and gets excited when he remembers he has *2* of them...
