How old was your DC when he/she sat up straight without your help?
my DS is almost 3 months and i was wondering when i should expect him to sit

You have plenty of time. Usually about 6-8 months.

DD did this at 5 months to the day! I think she did it a bit early b/c she only wants to be upright when she is awake...never on her tummy...now she wants to take steps at 7 months!

Sat up right with help at about 4 1/2 - 5 months.
Sat up right unassisted 6 months 10 days old on Christmas & hasn't stopped since!!

5 months, but I attribute that to the fact he was sitting on my lap for all 5 months. I don't ever remember him laying down

Between 4 and 5 months...I had to put him in a sitting position though.

They are all so different... my two kids were day and night with everything. My older did everything ahead of schedule.. the other one was a complete slacker did everything 2-3 months behind or when ever he felt the urge!! Just enjoy!!
