First job ever I think I was 12 or 13...I worked at an after school program in my old Elem School as a teachers helper

Almost 17 - I worked for a tax prep company where my older sister was an executive. I only did it for tax season - from January-April. I actually worked more than 40 hours a week AND went to high school AND did extra curricular activities. I was 17 in 1986 and bringing home $500 a week. I didn't save a DIME.

Next was Consumer Distributing in West Islip. Nightmare place. I was 17 and I lasted 2 weeks with power tripping dirtbag bosses.

I started babysitting at 10--Party store at 16.

15 - cashier at a food store (lasted through jr year of college)

10 when I babysat. I was also a mother's helper at the pool for the summers. Great job.

14 when I worked at a nursery. Summer job where I would sweep out the greenhouses and unload trucks. The heat was sometimes unbearable. Then I worked at the bagel store and then at Shoprite. At one point I worked at both the bagel store and Shoprite. I must have worked about 30 hrs a week between both jobs in addition to school. At that point I was saving for a car and insurance. Good thing, because I needed every dime and then some.

I was in such a rush to go to work. I wish I enjoyed myself more.

I started babysitting and delivering Newsday when I was 12-13 yrs old. my first "real" job (meaning I was paying into SS) was at Rockbottom and I was 16.

I was tutoring and babysitting by 12

But I consider my first real to be at 16 when I started working at Woolworth.

but 14 was when i actually worked at a business- it was a local pizza place

4 days after I turned 15 i had to go to Finast Supermarket (which turned into Edwards and is now gone) and get my first job. I worked there until I was 19.

My first on the books job was Mandees at 16.

I started babysitting in 9th grade and working in the summers as a camp counselor.

I started working at a gym at the front desk my first summer home from college.

13- I was a proof reader for a graphics design company- of the books. hahahah my spellilng is in the crapper now
