How to clean Medela Pump Tubing? I boiled and now they turned white!
There was condensation so I've been running the pump after I use it for a few minutes. Yesterday I noticed some spots and read I should boil it for a few minutes. I did, and now they turned white  I have a back up pair but I'm wondering if I can still use this tubing again?

I always had that problem. I used to try swinging them really fast (like a jump rope) to move the liquid out.... Just let the pump run for a good 20 min or so to help air them out. The key is to not let mildew develop in there....

HaHa! I am glad I am not the only one who did this! MY DH thought I was crazy but it worked!
and the white eventually disappears! That is just while it is still hot from the boiling! I used them when They were like this...I would also hang them vertical with clothes clips after to assure all the water got out!

Mine got some kind of mildew??? and weird spots that did not go away. I bought new tubing (about $8). Better safe then sorry. Now, I let the pump run for a few minutes after I use it (each time).

if you call medela and tell them that there are moldy patches that you cannot get out they will replace them for free (at least that is what they did for me)

i know that it's normal for the tubing to become cloudy after boiling, but I'm not sure about white spots. I would call medela. They will send you new tubing for free.
