Does anyone remember gargling with salt water at the nurse's office in elementary school for a sore throat?
My mom made me do this forever.... Warm salt water (almost tastes like sea water), and my own personal fix - i take honey and lemon, and mix them together in a cup until they are a thick syrup consistency....
ETA: I take a couple of tablespoons every few hours. The mixture totally soothes the throat, and always makes mine feel better.....
Good luck sweetie! I hate having a sore throat....

if it's in the top of the throat, gargling with listerine works really well (scope not as well.... you need that alcohol burn  )
I've kept strep infections at bay many times using this method.... just gargle several times a day, for 30 seconds each time....

Zinc cough drops and gargling with warm water, salt, and vineger has always helped me! I know that it sounds gross but it really works!
