How to make a cat sleep at night

DH and I just adopted a kitten named Ozzy. Hes super cute and gets a long with my dog Casey.

Everything is great with him, he goes in the box, is affectionate, eats... but he doesnt sleep at night.

Hes running back and forth, jumping on everything and even us.

How do we make him tired so he sleeps at night. I played with a cat toy with him for about an hour and it still didnt tire him out.

HELP!

I find kittens are just like that. It takes about a year to grow out of that stage. And you got an orange kitty- they are cuties, but can be very playful!

cats are nocturnal (sp?) animals... my cat rarely sleeps at night (he'll be 9 next month) usually he just lays on the bed & hangs out.... he usually sleeps all day

there are a few things that you can do that may help:

first, feed him right before you guys are planning on going to lay down. cats will normally take a nap shortly after they eat...

second, PLAAAYYYY a LOT MORE!!! and especially before bed.... it will tire him out and he may take a nap... sometimes i actually have our cats panting like dogs

being as they sleep about 16-18 hrs a day and are nocturnal by nature, they have a lot of energy for the night time "hunt".

last night we had a rough night of cats figihting in our bed, kitten wanting to play screaming at us (ugh)

but its because i wasn't home to play with them like i usually do for about a hour right before we go to bed. Its really important to get them to play as much before bed time this way they sleep at least for a few hours enough time to let you get into a deep sleep.

Otherwise as mean as it sounds lock them up in a room far away from yours with litterbox, water bowl and toys.
