How to remove tiles from cement floor?
We have some tiles at the bottom of our stairs that goes into the Family Room. We need to get thos tiles up, so that we have a level floor when we put in the new flooring. Any ideas? Easiest way to get them up? They are on a cement floor if that makes any difference. TIA!

I would think they would have to be broken/chisled up and whatever thinset is remaining underneath scraped off the floor

We (I) used a 5lb. lump hammer and a 2" mason chisel. Some were stubborn and some popped right up. And the thinset that did not come up with the tile popped right off too. Get yerself some knee pads too! If it's a good size area!

Unfortunately, I dont think there is an easier way than this. But if its a small area....it should go by fast.
We used a jackhammer to do ours. Even though its noisy and does make a mess.....it does the job very quick.
